toplight EXTENSION CLONTARF / top: A high level rooflight allows light to stream into the new open plan kitchen, living and dining to the rear of the existing house. A new utility, bathroom have also been accomodated in the centre. The materials used include a natural stone floor, birch plywood shelving and solid surface worktop create a rich textured space.

panel house PHIBSBORO / BOTTOM: This contemporary extension has concertina doors with a continuous polished concrete floor between patio and kitchen. The metallic finish to the glazing and steel panelling between creates a dramatic contrast with the existing period house. This project was a collaboration at site stage and was designed by Derek Murphy Architects .
